Near Infra Red spectroscopy (NIR) is a commonly used as a rapid technique for quantitative analysis across a variety of industries. Typical industries include quantitative or qualitatiive measurement in food and feed, dairy, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.

The implementation of NIR technology will often have a payback period of less than 12 months. NIR provides real time measurement which allows organisations to closely monitor and control their production.

NIR has stable cailbrations which, compared to IR spectroscopy, makes it much more suitable to test raw materials and ingredients, perform on-line monitoring and process control and verify end-product compliance to specifications.

In Vitro Technologies provides two NIR solutions, both of which use fourier transform infrared spectroscopy technology.

The N500 NIR is designed to provide maximum flexibility in a laboratory environment.
The NIRMASTER is designed as a rugged waterproof and dustproof NIR suitable for operation in a production environment.

Both NIR units can analyse many types of samples in seconds and get highly accurate results for traditional parameters such as moisture, protein and fat; as well as new innovative paramaters that have not been measured with other less sophisticated NIR units.
