Biobanking Tubes

Micronic offers a complete line of high density sample storage tubes from 0.5ml to 7.5ml that fit a standard 96-well and 24-well SBS format. With a selection of coding, capping and sterilisation options; Micronic tubes provide a comprehensive range of solutions to suit most biobanking applications.

To facilitate full traceability and sample identification, each Micronic tube is available with either a 12x12 Datamatrix 2D barcode or alphanumeric position code. This code is laser-etched into the base of each tube and solvent resistant, ensuring permanent labelling of each sample and long-term code integrity. Each 2D coded tube is guaranteed to be globally unique, while a human readable code enables samples to be located in the event of equipment malfunction. Customisable 2D bar-coded options are also available upon request. Produced in a class 7 clean room environment from the highest-purity oleamide-free polypropylene, Micronic tubes are certified medical and food grade while resistant to many organic solvents. Manufactured up to or exceeding industry leading standards, the precision and tube-to-tube consistency of Micronic products maximises operational uptime when used with automated cherry picking and liquid handling systems.

The 6.0ml high volume cryogenic tube from Micronic has been designed for storing larger solid or liquid biological material. With a net volume of 4.60ml when freezing liquid the 6.0ml tissue tubes are ideal for use in a wide variety of long term storage applications. The inner flat bottom of the tube is ideal for the storage of tissue at ultra low temperatures including the storage of samples in cryogenic environment (vapour phase liquid nitrogen).

Micronic tubes are stored in either a 96 or 24 well standard SBS rack allowing for easy automation and minimising the space required to store them within fridges, ultra low freezers or cryogenic tanks. “Snap Lock” tubes allow the user to securely lock the tubes within the rack simply by applying downward pressure to the tube. Once locked into the racks, Micronic tubes are protected from loss of tubes due to dropping or during sample transportation. In combination with freezer racking, barcode scanning, automated cherry picking equipment and sample management software solutions the Micronic storage tubes provide a compact, automation compatible and fully traceable inventory system for your laboratories most valuable asset – your samples
