Reclassification of NTA (Nitrilotriacetic acid) – New NTA-free product variants

Please be advised that as of the First of December 2011, all manufactured products containing
the chemical NTA must be marked with the hazard warning R40 (“limited evidence of a
carcinogenic effect”).

Whilst the chemical NTA is still used in many products, Borer Chemie AG has decided that all of
its products should be formulated without the use of NTA.

Borer product containing NTA will soon cease to be available as the stock levels at In Vitro
Technologies run down and will be replaced with the new NTA free version. The performance
of the new products will be unchanged. Where there are existing pricing agreements in place,
pricing for the new NTA free products will be the same as the products they replace. There will
however be a change of item code required to delineate the new product.
